Third Committee Elects Vice-Chairman and Rapporteur; Discusses Organization of Work

The Third Committee (Social, Humanitarian and Cultural) this morning elected its Vice-Chairman and Rapporteur and began discussion of its organization of work. Mrs. Abdallahi Ould Daddah Turkia (Mauritania) was elected Vice-Chairman and Yahya Mahmassani (Lebanon) was elected Rapporteur. Both were elected by acclamation.
Conversing, before the meeting began, are Lady Gaitskell (left) of the United Kingdom, and Miss M. Martinez (Jamaica).
