Work-Oriented Adult Literacy Pilot Project in Iran

Work-Oriented Adult Literacy Pilot Project in Iran

The Iranian Government wishes to promote work-oriented literacy training of young adults who are already employed or are potential workers, and with the assistance of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as Executing Agency, has established a pilot programme to accomplish this task.
In the village of Yasdabad, B. Jercovic (Yugoslavia), Agricultural Vocational Training Specialist for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and his Iranian counterpart, N. Soroya (1st & 2nd from left), demonstrate a device to farmers in which seeds are mixed with chemicals to protect them against disease. UNESCO expert in Mass Communications and Audio-Visual Aids, R. Paccard (France), records the instructions for use on his broadcast to farmers.
