Twentieth Session of United Nations General Assembly Opens

21 September 1965

The General Assembly, opening its twentieth regular session this afternoon elected Amintore Fanfani (Italy) as its President and admitted three new States to membership in the United Nations, making a total of 117. The three new Members are the Gambia, the Maldive Islands and Singapore.
