General Assembly Elects New Members to Economic and Social Council
The General Assembly elected 14 states to the newly enlarged Economic and Social Council, but after four inconclusive ballots, it postponed to a later meeting, the election to the fifteenth seat. Also this afternoon, the Assembly heard explanations of the vote concerning the two resolutions adopted this morning on the apartheid policies of South Africa.
