Security Council Hears Nine More Statements on Israel's Non-Compliance with Decision on Occupied Golan Heights

The Security Council this afternoon heard nine statements in its continuing consideration of Israel's non-compliance with Council resolution 497 (1981). Adopted three weeks ago, it demanded Israel rescind forthwith the imposition of its laws, jurisdiction and administration in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights. Statements were made by representatives of Yemen, Algeria, India, Sudan, Yugoslavia, Libya, Pakistan and the Ukraine and by the observer from the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).
