Security Council Fails to Adopt Draft Condemning Israel for Non-Compliance with Resolutions on Events in Lebanon
The Security Council tonight failed to adopt a draft resolution submitted by Spain that would have condemned Israel for not complying with two previous Council resolutions calling for immediate cessation of military activities in Lebanon and demanding Israel's unconditional withdrawal from that country. The United States, a permanent Council member, cast its vote in a vote of 14 in favour to 1 against, with no abstentions.
