Security Council Resumes Debate on Occupied Arab Territories
The Security Council this afternoon resumed debate begun 12 November last year on the situation in the occupied Arab territories. Statements were made by representatives of Syria, Egypt, India, Yugoslavia, and Yemen, and by the representative of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The meeting was convened in response to a request from the representative of Jordan, Chairman of the Arab Group, in light of "Israel's persistence in its policies of establishing settlements in occupied Arab and Palestinian territories" (document S/15599).
