UN Security Council Adopts Resolution on Deportation of Palestinian Civilians from Israeli-Occupied Territories

At a meeting of the UN Security Council this afternoon, a resolution was adopted calling on Israel to rescind its order to deport Palestinian civilians from the occupied Palestinian territories and to ensure the immediate return of those already deported. The resolution also requested Israel to desist from any further deportations. The vote on the resolution was 34 in favour to none against, with the United States abstaining.
