General Assembly Hears Statement by Algerian Prime Minister General Debate Continues with Statements by Netherlands and Indonesia

9 October 1962

Following further speeches of welcome to Algeria – admitted yesterday to membership in the United Nations – the General Assembly this morning heard an address by the Algerian Prime Minister, Ahmed Ben Bella. The Assembly then continued its general debate, with statements by the representatives of the Netherlands and Indonesia.
A view of the Assembly as representatives gave Mr. Ben Bella a standing ovation on his way to the rostrum to address the Assembly.
