Miriam Makeba Appears as Petitioner before Apartheid Committee
Miriam Makeba, the well known South African singer, appeared this morning as a petitioner before the Special Committee on the Policies of Apartheid of the Government of the Republic of South Africa.
Miss Makeba is seen here as she addressed the Committee. She said, among other things, that the "very good" resolution of the General Assembly, calling for a boycott and an arms embargo against South Africa, should be put into effect, as "I have not the slightest doubt that these arms will be used against the African women and children".
