TB Treatment Methods in Madras

The Tuberculosis Chemotherapy Centre in Madras was set up in 1956 under the auspices of the Indian Council of Medical Research, the Madras State Government, the World Health Organisation and the Medical Research Council of Great Britain to treat tuberculosis victims by the cheapest and most effective methods available. The treatment, which lasts four or five years, is administered to patients who are sent home rather than hospitalised.
