Pakistan Trains Technicians in Jute Industry

The Government of Pakistan is reorganizing its Textile Institute to train supervisory technical personnel to staff industries with the help of experts from the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the United Nations Special Fund. An ILO expert in jute productivity advises the jute technology section of the Textile Institute and helps to train instructors for the institute and for industry.

A partial view of the loans that produce jute cloth. The Adamjee Jute Mills near Narayanganj consist of three mills, each mill having 1000 looms. The Mills are considered the largest jute factories in the world, producing 120 million yards of jute cloth and 60 million yards of jute bags per year. Some 20,000 employee work in the Adamjee Jute Mills.
