Sculpture Unveiled Honours Dag Hammarskjöld
A 21-foot-high abstract sculpture, entitled ""Single Form"" and dedicated to the memory of Dag Hammarskjöld, was unveiled at United Nations Headquarters this afternoon during a ceremony presided over by United Nations Secretary-General U Thant. The sculpture, mounted on a granite base at the southern edge of the circular basin facing the 38-story Secretariat building, was executed by Barbara Hepworth, a British sculptress. It is a gift of Jacob Blaustein, former U.S. delegate to the United Nations and friend of the late Secretary-General.
The abstract sculpture, ""Single Form"" is seen against the background of the Dag Hammerskjold Memorial Library at United Nations Headquarters.
