United Nations Peace-Keeping Force in Cyprus

The United Nations peace-keeping force in Cyprus (UNFICYP), established by action of the United Nations Security Council resolution of 4 March 1964, has had troops stationed operationally in Cyprus since 27 March. On 19 June, the Security Council unanimously voted to extend the stationing of the troops until 26 September 1964. These troops are composed of contingents from Canada, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Sweden and the United Kingdom, and a police force from Austria.
