Local Elections to Be Held Soon in Korea

1 April 1952

Country-wide local elections will be held on 25 April and 10 May in the Republic of Korea. They will be the first elections to take place throughout the country since the National Assembly poll held in May 1948 under the auspices of the UN Temporary Commission on Korea. The United States Information Service has sent one of its mobile units around the district of Taejon, urging the people through public address system to make use of their right to vote. This is part of the adult education program presently carried out by USIS. The mobile unit is seen here on Taejon's market place.
