Building for Peace: Restoring Life in War-Shattered Areas
When the United Nations decided to take joint action against aggression in Korea it also undertook the moral obligation to help the Korean people to restore their social and economic life. In keeping with this, the United Nations Korean Reconstruction Agency began its work while the guns were still blazing on the battlefronts. Koreans are rebuilding a school textbook printing plant near Seoul. Women as well as men pitch into the gigantic task of rebuilding Korea.
