UNKRA's Help to Korea

Each morning, fish arrive by truckloads at the Seoul City Wholesale Fish Market, its freshness protected by a packing of ice during the trip from the fishing centers. Fifty to seventy tons of fish of all types are auctioned each day. The Fish Market was constructed by the United Nations Korean Reconstruction Agency (UNKRA) as one of its projects to aid the Korean fishing industry; it was officially opened on 24 June 1954.
