Two Koreans Study in U.S. Merchant Marine Academy

Two instructors of the Korean Merchant Marine Academy - Messrs. Sohn
Tae Hyon, Chief instructor, and Kang Kyong Wok, Chief engineer - are present attending observers courses at the Kings Point (Merchant) Marine Academy, near New York, under sponsorship of the UN Korean Reconstruction Agency (UNKRA). They are seen here discussing sea routes from New York to Korea with Lt. Leonard Urschel, Assistant to the Dean of Kings Point Academy, in the college library.
UNKRA helped to build and equip the Korean Merchant Marine Academy, which is located at Yang-do, near Pusan, and provided it with the services of various technical assistance experts.
