Commander of UN Force in Farewell Visit to Stanleyville

Lieut. Gen. Sean McKeown, Commander of the UN Force in the Congo, today paid a farewell visit to members of the Ethiopian contingent of the Force stationed here. He is scheduled to leave the Congo at the end of this month and return to Ireland. The occasion was marked by a ceremony at which the Commander reviewed the troops, presented medals and delivered a farewell address. He, in turn, was presented with an Ethiopian warrior cap, spear, shield and sword.
Gen. McKeown (r.) is seen during the review as he inspected the Band of the Armée Nationale Congolaise which participated in the parade and provided music for the occasion.
