Korean Leprosarium
Near Pusan, there is a leprosarium. There, some 1400 lepers - men, women, children - are sheltered; they are under the care of Korean physician and of a Korean staff. The United Nations Civil Assistance Command does its best to help them, and whenever possible supply them drugs and medicines. Periodically WHO (World Health Organization) Doctor Henry Meyer (of Denmark) goes there for a visit, as part of his duties as Pusan City Public Health Doctor. He is seen here (at left) talking with one of the lepers. At right are a member of the Swedish Hospital staff and a Korean physician. [No exact date]
