General Assembly Concludes General Debate after Hearing Paraguay, Portugal, Yemen and Algeria
The General Assembly concluded its general debate this afternoon after hearing four more statements, those of the representatives of Paraguay, and of the Foreign Ministers of Portugal, Yemen and Algeria. During the general debate, which began on 22 September, the Assembly heard 121 statements. These included statements by two Prime Ministers (Grenada and Mauritius), three Deputy Prime Ministers (Fiji, Syria and Yugoslavia), 97 Foreign Ministers and 3 other Ministers. In addition, outside the general debate, the Assembly has so far been addressed by the Heads of State of Bolivia, Cambodia, Cyprus, Mexico, Norway and Uganda.
