Ceremony at Salisbury for Late Dag Hammarskjöld

The body of the late U.N. Secretary-General, Dag Hammarskjöld, is carried to a waiting plane at Salisbury airport for its journey to his hometown in Sweden.
A ceremony was held at the airport of this Southern Rhodesian capital after the bodies of Mr. Hammarskjöld and other UN staff members who died with him were brought from Ndola - the little border town in Northern Rhodesia near where the plane carrying the UN party crashed.
Behind the coffin here walk Mr. Hammarskjold's nephew, Knut, (left) alongside Dr. Pier Spinelli, director of the UN Eruopean office in Geneva.
