Special Committee On International Law Meets In Mexico

The 27-nation Special Committee on Principles of International Law concerning Friendly Relations and Co-operation among States, opened its session in Mexico City today. The Committee, set up under General Assembly resolution 1966 (XVIII) of 16 December 1963, was given the tasks of studying principles of international law with a view to their progressive development and codification, so as to ensure their most effective application; and of drawing up a report containing the conclusions of its study and its recommendations. The meeting is scheduled to end on 2 October.
