With International Support, Haitians Go to the Police

On 16 December 1990, for the first time in their history, the people of Haiti chose a president by means of a peaceful, democratic election. Assisting them in that process was the United Nations Observer Group for the Verification of Elections in Haiti (ONUVEH).
