Delegations Welcome Representatives of China in General Assembly

The appearance, for the first time, in the General Assembly of representatives of the People's Republic of China was marked this morning by a series of welcoming statements by other Member States.
George Bush (at speaker's rostrum) of the United States speaking as representative of the host country is seen as he welcomed the representatives of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations. The representatives of China can be seen seated at left.
