World AIDS Day Observed in Special Meeting at Headquarters

World AIDS Day is observed at United Nations Headquarters, in a special meeting sponsored by the Department of Public Information (DPI) and the American Foundation for AIDS Research (AmFAR), in association with the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) .
Actress Sharon Stone, Chairman of AmFAR' s Campaign for AIDS Research, addresses the meeting. She is flanked by Candido Gonzalez (left), a person living with HIV/AIDS; and Afsane Bassir Pour (moderator), a correspondent for Le Monde.
