Security Council Opens Meeting in Panama City; Hears Statements by Head of Panama Government and by Secretary-General
The Security Council this morning began a series of meetings in Panama City, devoted to Consideration of measures for the maintenance and strengthening of international peace and security in Latin America in conformity with the provisions and principles of the Charter. At the opening meeting, General of Brigade Omar Torrijos Herrera, Head of the Government of Panama and Secretary-General Kurt Waldheim addresses the Council. The meeting was opened by the President of the Council, Aquilino E. Boyd (Panama).
