Press Briefing by UNICEF with Remarks by Katarina Witt

At a press conference today at UN Headquarters, Katarina Witt, an Olympic figure-skating champion from the German Democratic Republic, who just became the United Nation's Children's Fund's (UNICEF) newest Sports and Goodwill Ambassador, said that peace was what all children needed most urgently. She also called for athletes not to compete in South Africa until the rights of all people there were respected.
