A panel of speakers briefed correspondents on the Convention on the Rights of the Child which was adopted by the General Assembly in 1989.
Ms. Liv Ullman, Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nation's Childrens Fund (UNICEF), spoke about the need for ratification of the Convention by all nations as a first step to helping children the world over.
