General Assembly Approves $4.2 Billion UN Budget

Srgjan Kerim (left), President of the sixty-second session of the General Assembly, flanked by Ion Botnaru, Chief of the UN General Assembly Affairs Branch, strikes his gavel, bringing to a close the main part of the sixty-second session of the General Assembly. It adopted the 2008-2009 budget of $4.17 billion for the United Nations, with the United States casting the lone negative vote.
