Fourth Committee Hears Statements on Namibia by Two Representatives of Liberation Organization and by Petitioner

The Fourth Committee (Trust and Non-Self-Governing Territories) heard this afternoon statements on Namibia by two representatives of the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO), Peter Mueshihange and John Ya Otto, as well as by a petitioner, Ms. Barbara Rogers of the Friends of Namibia Committee. Ms. Rogers replied to a question posed by the representative of Algeria. The Committee then continued its debate on Namibia, with statements by the representatives of Zaire, Finland, Morocco, China, Bangladesh, German Democratic Republic, Iraq, Senegal, Ukraine, Jamaica and Peru. The Committee also received a request for hearing on Namibia from the World Peace Council.
