Rehabilitation of Suez Canal Workshops at Port Fuad

The United Nations, utilizing the advisory assistance of Mr. J. Connors - technical assistant and senior aide to UN Secretary-General's special representative to direct Suez Canal clearance operations General Wheeler - helped Egyptian engineers who with the normal workshop staff have completed 90 percent of the rehabilitation work.
A section of the machine shop at Port Fuad, as a workman inspects auxiliary engines brought in for the repairs. The engines are from a tug boat which had sunk in the Canal but was later salvaged during the clearance operations. 1957.
