United Nations Day in Congo

24 October 1962

A programme of special activities was planned in Leopoldville in connection with UN Day, 24 October, by the Congolese authorities in cooperation with the United Nations Operation in the Congo (ONUC) office. The programme consisted of Congolese folk-dancing and songs. UN films were shown, and a school holiday was proclaimed for all schools throughout the Congo.

Ahmed (wife of the Chief of Civilian Operations, Congo), Dr. Ralph Bunche, UN Under-Secretary for Special Political Affairs, and General Prem Chand of India.
