United Nations Force in the Congo

The Secretary-General sent his Personal Representative in the Congo, Dr. Ralph J. Bunche, to Elisabethville for discussions prior to the arrival of UN troops in Katanga Province.
Dr. Bunche (front, wearing dark glasses) and his party are seen upon their arrival at the airport of Elisabethville where they were greeted by Ambassador Robert Rothschild, deputy head of the Belgian diplomatic mission to the Congo, and Count Harold d'Aspremont Lynden, personal representative of Premier Gaston Eyskens of Belgium.
