United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA)

1 January 1961

Three hundred ninety UNRWA schools provide 12 years of education for 187,000 refugee pupils. The program is supervised by staff seconded from UNESCO. In addition the Agency subsidizes 60,000 pupils in Government and private schools.
