UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA)

Picture shows crippled refugee child about to enter school playground. After having received physical therapy treatment at the Cartbawi Centre in Lebanon, he is now able to follow lessons in classes with other children. In 1959-60 UNRWA spent nearly $100,000 for the complete education and training of 119 handicapped refugee children in 15 Middle East institutions.
