Health Services in Panama
With the help of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the World Health Organization (WHO), the Government of Panama is expanding rural health services throughout the country, training professional and auxiliary workers in public health and sanitation. Under a programme initiated some four years ago, a central public health laboratory has been organized in Panama City to serve as a training centre for laboratory technicians in the health units, to supervise the health unit laboratories and complement their work.
