A refugee child photographed on a stairway in the town of Hebron, 26 km. from Bethlehem. There are 1,151,024 refugees registered with UNRWA as of 30 June 1961. Thirty-eight per cent of them are sheltered in 57 UNRWA camps located in Jordan, Gaza, Lebanon and Syria.
