United Nations Emergency Force in the Middle East

1 December 1956

As of 14 December, the U.N. Emergency Force for the Middle East had reached a total of approximately 5,000 men, more than 3,700 of whom are on duty in Egypt. A tabulation shows that the man force in Egypt is composed of personnel from eight nations - Canada, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, India, Norway, Sweden and Yugoslavia.
