UN Assembly Commemorates 10th Anniversary of Human Rights Declaration

This photograph was taken as Mr. R.S.S. Gunewardene (at speaker's rostrum), of Ceylon, the present Chairman of the Human Rights Commission, addressed the Assembly. Seated at left are Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt, the first Chairman of the Commission; and Mr. Guillaume Georges-Picot (France). At the presidential rostrum are (left to right): UN Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjöld; Dr. Charles Malik (Lebanon), Assembly President; and Mr. Andrew W. Cordier, Executive-Assistant to the Secretary-General.
