Dr. Charles Malik Elected President of the 13th General Assembly Session

By majority vote on the first ballot, the United Nations General Assembly today elected Dr. Charles Malik, Lebanon's Minister for Foreign Affairs, as President of its thirteenth session.
Dr. Malik (right) shortly after the opening meeting today, being congratulated by Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Mahgoub, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Sudan.
