Field Coverage
United Nations Emergency Force (UNEF) Troops in Rafah
The United Nations Emergency Force, since its creation during the winter of 1956, has maintained a constant vigil along the Armistice Demarcation Line and the International Frontier. In addition to several observation posts, patrols of scout cars and jeeps, maintaining a continuous radio contact with the battalion headquarters and UNEF reconnaissance planes, are carried out along this 140-mile frontier.
A supply convoy for Canadian outposts on the International Frontier goes around corner marking ADL and IF meeting place, passing the Brazilian observation post which stands there. The barrel painted black and white marks exact corner of ADL and IF.
