United Nations Emergency Force (UNEF) in Gaza

Since its creation during the winter of 1956, the United Nations Emergency Force (UNEF) has maintained a constant vigil along the Armistice Demarcation Line and the International Frontier. The Indian Signals Section at El Arish, which provides signal cammunication for UNEF Air Transport Unit, is part of this international force under the command of Lt. General E.L.M. Burns, of Canada.
