U.N. Force (UNEF) in Port Said
The Anglo-French forces today completed the total evacuation of Port Said today and the city was left under the control of the U.N. Emergency Force (UNEF), which is jointly protecting it in cooperation with the Egyptian police. The departure of the Anglo-French forces ended the 48-day occupation which started 5 November when the first paratroopers descended over the city.
