Asian Statistical Institute to be Established in Tokyo

An agreement for the establishment of an Asian Statistical Institute was signed today by representatives of the Government of Japan and of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
At a brief ceremony at United Nations headquarters, the agreement bringing the Institute into existence is signed by Senjin Tsuruoka, Permanent Representative of Japan to UN (right), and Paul Hoffman, Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
