Salvage Work in the Suez Canal
The sunken tug ""Edgar Bonnet"" is being raised by ships of the UN salvage fleet.
The ""Edgar Bonnet"" had blocked the Suez Canal near Ismailia, about 46 miles south of Port Said. The 1,390-ton sunken tug was one of the most difficult obstructions in the canal. Dutch salvage vessels participating in the ""Bonnet"" work included the ""Zeehond"" and ""Walrus"" and the tugs ""Atlas"" and ""Blankenburg"".
