Asian Conference on Industrialization

An Asian Conference on Industrialization opened here today under the auspices of the United Nations Economic Commission for Asia and the Far East (ECAFE). Harnessing Asia's human and national resources through science and technology is the principal objective of the meeting, which will examine all problems besetting industrialization. Making recommendations for action at the national, regional and international levels, the Conference will chart the future course for Asia towards the goal of economic well-being through industrialization. The meeting closes on 20 December.
