Security Council Recommends Japan's Admission to the UN

The Security Council this morning voted unanimously in favour of the admission of Japan as the 80th Member State of the United Nations. This recommendation now will go to the General Assembly. In another action, the Council rejected a draft resolution by which it would have recommended also the admission to the UN of the Mongolian People's Republic.
