The Arab Refugees

Since the partition of Palestine, in 1948, more than 800,000 Arabs have taken refuge in the neighbouring countries. They are the concern of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East.
A roofless school: rainfall is slight in the Egyptian-held Gaza strip, and the absence of a roof does not deter 928 boys from attending classes in this thick-walled building in Rafah. These are second-year pupils in an elementary school.
