General Assembly Admits People's Republic of Angola

The General Assembly this morning admitted the People's Republic of Angola as the 146th Member of the United Nations. The results of the recorded vote on the admission of Angola were 116 in favour to none against, with 1 abstention (United States). The draft resolution on admission was sponsored by 73 States.
